Organisation and range
De Groote Aard is an SO-VSO school. We therefore have both a SO and a VSO department.
SO means Special Education (primary education) and VSO means Secondary Special Education.
All pupils are assigned to a fixed group. In the SO department, we have four groups. The VSO department has three groups. We also have 3 Education Care Groups (Onderwijs Zorg Groepen, OZG).
Education is provided on the basis of a Development Perspective Plan (OPP). The OPP contains the expected outflow and the corresponding learning route. Each learning route is filled with learning lines. These are the educational objectives we work towards. There may be pupils from several learning routes in one group. The learning lines are available for inspection at school.
De Groote Aard has five departments:

ESF subsidy
De Groote Aard makes use of a grant from the European Social Fund (ESF+ 2021-2027) in the context of promoting the link between practical education or secondary special education and the labour market or further education. We applied for the subsidy from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW).
We use these extra funds to prepare pupils properly for the labour market and possible further education. Specifically, this means that we were able to expand the internship guidance, we can now offer several sector-specific courses and we can continue to professionalise the practical subjects.
